Tan Piah Eng - Life & Legacy

This blog gathers the pivotal moments of the life of Tan Piah Eng (1878 to 1955). It traces his early days, his war years, his work life, his families, the final chapter of his passing and burial and the legacy he left behind. It is a tribute not only to who he was, but to the generations shaped by his footsteps.

 

This July 1952 portrait of Tan Piah Eng set within the frames of this mirror coated frame was hung at his residence at 614-3 Bedok Road from the time he moved in in November 1954 until the family moved out in October 1974
